NivLux Skin & Laser DBA Islandgal by Nivelle.
Introduction
At NivLux Skin & Laser, our goal is to provide every client with a safe, professional, comfortable, and personalized experience. Please review the following policies before scheduling an appointment or purchasing services.
These policies apply to the NivLux Skin & Laser brand. Medical aesthetic services are furnished by the California professional medical corporation identified in the Medical Services section below, not by any non-physician management company. Non-medical spa, retail, and administrative services may be provided by the management company under a management services arrangement.
Appointment & Cancellation Policy
We kindly request at least 24 hours' notice when canceling or rescheduling an appointment.
Late cancellations and missed appointments may result in forfeiture of the appointment deposit and/or a $50 cancellation/no-show fee. The $50 fee is a reasonable estimate of the administrative and schedule cost of a late cancellation or missed appointment and is disclosed before booking.
Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may require a deposit or prepayment before future appointments can be scheduled.
Illness, documented emergency, and clinic-initiated cancellations are handled case-by-case; the clinic will not charge the cancellation fee when it cancels or when a medical contraindication identified at the visit prevents safe treatment.
Arrival & Late Appointments
Clients are encouraged to arrive approximately 10-15 minutes before their scheduled appointment, particularly for a first visit, to allow adequate time for check-in, required forms, consultation, and clinical photography when applicable.
Late arrival may require the treatment to be shortened or rescheduled so that subsequent clients are not affected. Applicable deposits or rescheduling fees may apply.
Deposits & Prepayments
Certain appointments, procedures, packages, promotions, or special events may require a deposit or prepayment.
Deposits are applied toward the scheduled service. Deposits may be forfeited following a late cancellation or missed appointment in accordance with the cancellation policy, except where a different rule is required by California law or is stated in writing at the time of payment.
Refunds
Due to the nature of aesthetic services, completed treatments are non-refundable, except where a refund or other remedy is required by California law.
Deposits, prepaid services, packages, memberships, and promotional purchases are subject to the terms disclosed at the time of purchase and applicable law.
If a medical service cannot safely be performed because a contraindication is identified during the clinical evaluation, the appropriate course of action will be determined in accordance with the applicable treatment agreement, medical assessment, and law. Where appropriate, an alternative eligible service or account credit may be offered.
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
Packages & Prepaid Services
Packages and prepaid services are intended for the client for whom they were purchased and are generally non-transferable, unless otherwise expressly authorized.
Package pricing and promotional discounts cannot be combined with other offers unless specifically stated.
Paid package and prepaid-service balances do not expire solely because of the passage of time, except that a separately disclosed promotional or complimentary component may have a disclosed expiration where California law permits. Unused paid value remains available for eligible services at NivLux. Cash redemption of unused paid balances is not offered except where California law requires it.
Gift Cards & Gift Certificates
NivLux gift cards/gift certificates may be used toward eligible services or products in accordance with the terms provided at purchase.
Gift cards and gift certificates sold for money do not expire, subject to applicable California law. If a gift card has a remaining cash value of less than $15, the holder may redeem that value for cash upon request where California law requires. Lost, stolen, or unauthorized gift cards are the purchaser's responsibility once issued, unless NivLux caused the loss.
Promotional or complimentary value provided as part of a special offer may have separate terms when legally permitted. Those terms will be disclosed at the time of purchase.
Memberships
Membership pricing, included benefits, billing frequency, renewal terms, cancellation procedures, and any other material conditions will be disclosed before enrollment.
If a membership automatically renews or involves recurring charges, NivLux will present clear automatic-renewal disclosures and obtain affirmative consent before charging, and will offer cancellation that is at least as easy as enrollment, consistent with California's Automatic Renewal Law (Bus. & Prof. Code sections 17600-17606). See the separate NivLux Glow Membership & Pearls Rewards Terms for the current programs.
Membership benefits are intended for the enrolled member unless the applicable membership agreement specifically provides otherwise.
Promotions & Special Offers
Promotional pricing is valid during the dates specified in the individual promotion and is subject to availability and the terms of the particular offer.
Promotions cannot be combined with other discounts, memberships, packages, or offers unless specifically stated.
Promotional offers have no cash value except where otherwise required by law.
Children & Guests
For safety and to maintain an appropriate clinical environment, clients are asked not to bring unattended children to treatment appointments.
Medical devices, lasers, medications, sharps, and other clinical equipment may be present in treatment areas.
If childcare arrangements cannot be made, please contact NivLux before your appointment to discuss rescheduling.
Guests may be asked to remain outside the treatment room depending on the treatment being performed.
Consultations & Treatment Eligibility
Not every treatment is appropriate for every client.
Eligibility for medical aesthetic treatment is determined through the appropriate clinical evaluation and may take into consideration medical history, medications, allergies, skin type, previous treatments, contraindications, treatment goals, and other relevant clinical factors.
A requested treatment may be postponed, modified, or declined when the treating medical professional determines that proceeding would not be medically appropriate or safe.
Medical treatments require the applicable consultation, informed consent, and other clinical requirements before treatment, including a good-faith examination and a patient-specific order where required under California law for the particular service.
Minors
Certain services offered by NivLux may have age restrictions.
Services for clients under 18 will only be provided when permitted by law and appropriate for the particular service, with any required parent or legal guardian involvement and consent.
NivLux may establish additional age restrictions for particular services when clinically appropriate. Laser, injectable, and other medical aesthetic services for minors require parent/guardian written consent and medical-director-approved eligibility criteria.
Retail Products
Because of health, hygiene, safety, and product-integrity considerations, opened skincare and retail products generally cannot be returned, subject to applicable law.
If a product purchased directly from NivLux is damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us promptly so that we can evaluate the issue and determine the appropriate remedy.
Results & Treatment Expectations
Individual results from aesthetic treatments vary. No specific outcome, degree of improvement, or duration of results can be guaranteed.
For medical procedures, the treating provider will discuss appropriate expectations, risks, benefits, alternatives, and treatment recommendations as part of the applicable clinical and informed-consent process.
Clinical Photography & Privacy
Clinical photographs may be taken when appropriate to document treatment planning, baseline condition, and treatment progress and may become part of the client's confidential medical record.
Consent to clinical photography does not constitute consent for marketing or social-media use.
Identifiable photographs or videos will not be used for marketing purposes based solely on clinical-photo consent. Appropriate separate authorization will be obtained when required before identifiable patient images or information are used for marketing.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
Accepted payment methods will be displayed at the clinic and/or during online checkout.
Medical Services

Policy Acknowledgment
By scheduling an appointment or purchasing a service, package, membership, promotion, or other item, the client acknowledges these policies and applicable terms presented in connection with the appointment or transaction.
These website policies do not replace procedure-specific informed consent forms, medical assessments, membership agreements, financial agreements, or other documentation required for a particular treatment or transaction.
